In true Kansas spirit, Saturday had a drastic change in weather from a beautiful 50 degrees the previous day to 20 degrees with ice and snow! Because of that, Hannah, Steven and I decided on an indoor shoot at the Kansas State Capitol for their engagement session!
I’ve known Hannah’s family for so long! From carpooling with her siblings in middle school to dancing ballet recitals together, there have been so many amazing memories between our families. I’m not kidding, when they reached out to see if I was available for their wedding and wedding celebration (I’ll get to that) I was freaking out that my schedule was free!
Taking photos of Hannah and Steven was SO easy. Even though they said they were awkward, I swear they were more natural in front of the camera than I’ll ever be ha! We adventured throughout the capitol and found some beautiful hallways to take photos in while also admiring some of the history of Kansas.
Steven proposed at Ward-Meade Park and planned to have their families together to celebrate after! Something I find hilarious is before the proposal, they were out shopping and Hannah was taking her time and kept asking him opinions about which shoes to buy. Steven, having their families ready to celebrate, had to keep telling them to wait a little longer ha! Turns out the waiting was worth it because once they were at Ward-Meade, Hannah was telling him about childhood memories when she turned around and he was getting the ring out!
These two just seem like the MOST genuine human beings and in just one short month, we’re going to celebrate their marriage with intimate family members and then again with friends for a bigger celebration this fall!! To say I’m excited is an understatement 😊
