Here we are kicking off our first wedding of 2022 with Hannah and Steven!
Because of the craziness of the past couple of years, Hannah and Steven decided to celebrate their marriage with a few family members and are having a bigger celebration this fall with friends! The day began as we met the families (in separate rooms of course) at the Topeka First United Methodist Church. Everyone was so calm but at the same time filled with love and excitement!
One of my favorite parts as a photographer is getting to talk with the bride and groom separately beforehand and check in with how they’re doing. Both were SO ready to see one another and get those rings on their fingers! The ceremony was small, intimate and perfect. Hannah and Steven decided to wait to see each other until walking down the aisle and their reactions were absolutely priceless! Also bonus, Steven had no idea just how fun and colorful her dress was so he got an extra surprise which I love! 🙂
After taking a few photos outside in the chilly Kansas weather (YES there was ice on the ground and I’m SO proud none of us slipped!!) the night ended with dinner at the Row House. I’m not exaggerating, when Corey and I walked into the restaurant to take some reception details, our stomachs started grumbling because the food smelt sooo good! Pure Heaven in food form!
What I loved about this day was that nothing felt stressful or forced. This was simply two close families, coming together and having the best time while witnessing the couple they love joining their lives into one. The emotion and genuine happiness from this wedding are memories I will truly never forget!
Congrats Hannah & Steven!! We were honored to spend a few hours with you to celebrate and we’ll see you in September to keep the party going!!
