Kicking off another beautiful summer engagement session with Val and John!! We started our photoshoot adventure in downtown Topeka and ended with some romantic portraits at the Governor’s Mansion.

I first met Val and John a little over a year when they booked a couple’s photoshoot to celebrate their two year anniversary! My dog obsessed heart instantly bonded when they said they wanted to bring their golden doodle Maverick to their session who’s an absolute sweetheart and a pretty dang good model (they’ve since added two sweet pups to their household and I’m definitely in love them with them all!)

The past year I’ve been lucky enough to keep in touch with these two and was over the moon when I found out John asked Val to marry him on the holidays this last December!!

Val and John met when they both swiped right on Bumble! They spent their first date bowling and one month later officially became boyfriend and girlfriend. Two years and seven months later, John caught Val completely off guard with the proposal the day after Christmas! After opening presents with family, John surprised Val with one last present (the most important and b-e-a-utiful one I’d say!!) and asked her to marry him!

These photos came out SO dreamy and in one short year from now, I get to document these two celebrating their marriage with friends and family under the fireworks 😊
